Stern magazine advances publishing to Monday

Hamburg (ots) - The German magazine stern advances the publishing of its next issue (No. 35/02) to Monday (19.8.2002). The cover story and the main reporting will be the devastating floods in the Czech Republik, Russia, Romania, Austria and the German states Saxonia and Bavaria. These floods, the worst since more than 100 years, have killed about 100 people, destroyed houses and cities throughout this region and forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes.

At the same time stern is trying to help the people in the devastated areas: From every stern sold at the newsstand (selling price: 2.50 euro) stern donates one euro to the flood victims.
