Fraport AG Welcomes Suggestions Regarding Zoning Application for Expansion of Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt/Main (ots) - FSE: FRA - Fraport AG received a letter from the Darmstadt administrative district (RP) requesting supplementary information about the documentation Fraport submitted for the zoning procedure (Planfeststellungsverfahren) on the planned expansion of Frankfurt Airport (FRA). In this letter, the government authority requests Fraport to enhance the documents submitted and also provides suggestions on how to make improvements.

"We welcome the fact that the RP is processing our zoning documentation so thoroughly", said Prof. Manfred Schölch, vice chairman of Fraport's executive board. "This contributes to ensuring a due process of law." This provides for an extensive review of all relevant aspects for all parties concerned. The company will prepare the requested enhancements with the necessary care and speed.

In September 2003, Fraport submitted over 10,000 pages of text and 750 plans for the zoning procedure on FRA's expansion to the RP for a completeness check. At that time, it was clear to everyone involved that subsequent improvements would be required. "This is system inherent within the scope of such a complex procedure," said Schölch. "Fraport also considers the RP's additional suggestions to be useful." Under such procedures, the purpose and intent of the completeness check is to examine the documentation submitted by the project developer and to make any further inquiries that may be necessary. Thus, possible delays in the zoning procedure can be avoided.
