Regional energy conference successfully held in Belgrade
Belgrade, 25.10.2013. - 6th ENERGY ARENA, which took place in Belgrade, was successfully held on October 23th, 2013. The participants of the conference discussed the energy policy of the European Union and the framework of the partnership within the European Community, and concluded that smaller projects dedicated to energy infrastructure have more chances of success of large-scale energy projects in this region.
6th ENERGY ARENA gathered top political officials, energy policy makers and experts who discussed strategies for achieving the objectives of energy security, increasing energy efficiency and reducing the risk of the negative effects on climate changes.
Thus two roundtable were held at the conference; one on the topic of energy strategy of the European Union and South East Europe, and other on the topic about perspectives of the private sector in the alignment of SEE with the energy policy and strategy of the EU, which hosted many influential politicians and people from energy sector, like: Ivica Dačić, Prime Minister, Serbia, Zorana Mihajlović, President, Ministerial Council, Energy Community; Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Serbia, Fabrizio Barbaso, Deputy Director General for Energy at the European Commission, for the European Union as Vice-Presidency, Janez Kopač, Director, Energy Community Secretariat, Slovenia, Kiril Kravčenko, CEO, NIS-Gazprom Neft, Serbia and many more.
The conference was successfully closed with the conclusion that the key to success is to push the further harmonization of the energy market and that that approaches will enable growth, development and increase its competitiveness of SEE region in the global market.
