Launching a New Website

Full information about gelatine in six languages

Brussels (ots) - Did you know that gelatine is good for the bones and joints and that, if taken regularly, it can help to prevent arthritis and osteoporosis? Do you know the most delicious recipes with gelatine, and did you know that gelatine is free of sugar, fat and cholesterol? >From today you will find everything more easily, more comprehensively and with a modern design at www.gelatine.org.

The re-launched gelatine website of the European Gelatine Association (GME) is going online. The aim is to give consumers, journalists, customers of the gelatine-producing industry as well as anyone interested in gelatine, even easier and more convenient access to important information about all aspects of gelatine. "The clear structure arranged according to subjects as well as the modern and trendy design of the new website address consumers and journalists equally effectively", says Patrick Goossens, President of the GME. "We want to inform and educate wherever we can. The new website gives us a great platform for this."

The Association is even going one step further with the relaunch of the website: the new internet site should also illustrate the far-reaching potential of gelatine. Indeed, in addition to its traditional applications in the food, pharmaceutical and photographic industries, gelatine is becoming increasingly important for the development of new innovative products in several sectors of industry.

The Consumer at the Heart of Everything

The consumer is still at the heart of the GME Association work. The comprehensive gelatine portal provides information on health and a good diet with gelatine. Delicious gelatine recipes for great dishes to make at home can be found there as well as expert tips for handling gelatine correctly when cooking and baking. GME also provides full information on the safety and quality of gelatine. A newsletter to be published every three months will report on current trends in gelatine, while a comprehensive range of services will be made available to journalists.

A special highlight: the website, currently accessible in English only, will soon also be available in German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. This means that the GME is already implementing an important objective of its broad-based information campaign: making gelatine information available to a broad, worldwide public.
