New on the market - the shining friendlyway counter!/friendlyway introduces a new Internet terminal for tables, counters and shelves

Munich (ots) - friendlyway AG of Munich is introducing the first "friendlyway counter" information terminal for use on tables, counters and shelves. The new system can be used, for example, as DVD or stereo, either in a shop, as a virtual campus in university libraries or as a counter-based hotel reservation system.

The system can be delivered with various extras such as touch screens, card and barcode readers, camera and telephone earpieces. A special feature is that the system gives off light through a transparent frosted rear housing.

This also draws attention to itself and the possibility for self-use which it creates.

The main target group for the new friendlyway counter is commercial and service outlets. According to friendlyway, these will lead to a multimedia battlefield in coming years. With sinking prices for displays, these are replacing more and more traditional commercial advertisers. The soon-to-appear Media Cityreport 2004, the study of more than

200 projects on customer information media in Europe and the US reports in detail on this new trend.

The friendlyway counter system is available immediately from EUR 1,890.00 at friendlyway and its European partners. The price includes the friendlyway secure browser and composer software. The secure browser software protects the system against software vandalism. The composer software takes over the display time control and Internet access. Information on other product specifications and the company in general is available at: www.friendlyway.de

friendlyway has concentrated on the interface of the two mega trends, "online/offline" and "mobile/stationary". In the mega trend "online/offline", banks and commercial customers bring e-commerce into classic businesses. In the mega trend "mobile/stationary", these e-commerce offers are controlled and requested via mobile terminals. For example, customers will download product information to their mobile computers and take it home. Here, friendlyway is developing and marketing technological solutions via its network of partners throughout Europe, Asia and its own subsidiary, friendlyway Inc. in San Francisco.
