eSe Security Focuses on the Awareness of IT Security within Small and Medium-sized Businesses

KOLDING Denmark--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2004--Small and medium-sized businesses are like other businesses hit by external threats like viruses, hackers, and internal employee security incidents. Threats, which may jeopardize the entire operation. A lot of resources are put into technical security control but the effect is often insignificant, if the employees are not aware of their responsibility in securing the daily operation of the business. Therefore the awareness of IT security is an important factor in the IT security service "En.Gate", that eSe presents at CeBIT.

En.Gate gives the company the opportunity to have an IT security policy according to international standard, training of the employees to ensure that everybody will acknowledge the importance of IT security, and protection of the organization's network. The service is available for only 49 euros per month, an affordable prize for even the smallest business.

Guided through a web-based En.Gate Policy builder, the company has the opportunity to decide it's IT security policy. Based on the chosen level of IT security there will be a automatically configuration of the soft- and hardware, and the employees are then trained via the advanced e-learning modules according to the chosen IT security policy. With the En.Gate concept IT security is an ongoing process that involves every employee in the organization.

A survey conducted by Forrester Research, also confirms that small to medium sized organizations recognize IT security as very important for the operation, but struggle to integrate it into the business. IT security is often limited to only installing a firewall and a anti-virus program. The survey covers IT Security in European small to medium sized organization in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, February 2004.

eSe Security will present the service at the CeBIT trade show in Hannover, Germany, March 18-24, at stand B11, Hall 17.
