Baxter promoted Jim Utts to president of Baxter Europe

Wallisellen, Switzerland (ots) - Baxter International Inc. announced the promotion of Jim Utts to president of Baxter Europe. The former general manager of global Oncology within the company's Medication Delivery business assumed his new responsibilities on Monday, August 2.

Utts, age 51, began his career at American Hospital Supply (which later merged with Baxter) in 1975, and progressed through a variety of roles in sales, marketing, planning and development, and management over the years. Utts served as president of Baxter's Medication Delivery business in Europe from 1996 through 2000, and subsequently as general manager of its global Nutrition and global Oncology units. He also ran the North American operations for the company's Renal business.

He received his master of business administration degree from Pepperdine University and his bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Maryland. This year, Utts was elected as corporate officer of the company.

"Jim brings many years of strong operating experience and extensive knowledge of the company to his role, having served in leadership positions in numerous areas of Baxter's businesses," said Robert L. Parkinson, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer. "I am confident he will continue to build strong customer relationships and provide the focus and discipline needed to drive Baxter's success."
