Rimage Previews the Future of the Digital Photolab at Photokina

Cologne, Germany - Rimage Corporation (NASDAQ: RIMG) will demonstrate its vision for Digital Photolabs with the introduction of the DiscLab DLN5200 - a fully automated, Network Attached CD/DVD publishing system, designed to meet the specialized requirements of photo industry. The leading players of the photo industry, including Agfa, Fuji, Kodak, Noritsu and Imaging Solutions, have integrated Rimage disc publishing systems into their solutions and have worked with Rimage since diskettes and CD-R`s first got introduced into the photo market. In addition, key software companies and integrators including AXIOM, Frontline, Luminus, Silverwire, and others, are offering software to integrate Rimage systems into the photo workflow environment. As a result, wholesale photolabs around the world offer Rimage-based photo CD's, creating a new revenue stream while providing a convenience and benefit for the customer by delivering CDs with digital pictures, a viewer along with text and full-color thumbnail index photos printed directly on the CD itself. The integrated system delivers prints and CDs simultaneously. The finished CDs slide into DiscLab's patented 5 disc sorter - ready for picking and attaching to the completed prints. The Rimage DiscLab DLN5200 was engineered for crowded retail minilab environments where space for equipment is limited. Due to an embedded microprocessor that eliminates the need for an external host computer, DiscLab has a footprint that is only 10 inches wide. This compact unit also incorporates Rimage's Everest[TM]II color printer, which imprints discs with waterproof, scratchproof and photorealistic images that are UV-stable. DiscLab is easily attached to the network, permitting access by multiple users throughout a lab or store. DiscLab also features a high degree of user-friendliness, robust operation in retail environments and an attractive price point. Manny Almeida, Rimage's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented: "DiscLab's innovative all-in-one Network Attached Publishing design delivers the small footprint and advanced capabilities that are expected to facilitate our efforts to further penetrate the growing digital photolab market. DiscLab also is Rimage's lowest-priced CD/DVD publisher that features our advanced Everest II color direct-to-disc printer. Given these benefits, we believe our DiscLab system has significant sales potential."
