Esterline Appoints Richard Wood Corporate Group Vice President

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2005--Esterline Corporation (NYSE:ESL) (www.esterline.com), a leading specialty manufacturer serving aerospace / defense markets, today announced that Richard Wood has been appointed as a Group Vice President. Wood most recently served as President of Esterline's Europe-based Sensors Group.

." Wood joined with Esterline in 2003 Esterline's acquisition of the UK-based Weston Group where he served as Managing Director. He was subsequently promoted to head the larger Esterline Sensors Group, which includes Weston, France-based Auxitrol, and U.S.-based Norwich Aero, and Pressure Systems Inc.

Prior to Weston, Wood held executive positions in the IT, electronic components, and contract manufacturing industries. He also worked as a management consultant in a variety of industries for one of Europe's leading consultancies. Wood holds a bachelor's degree in engineering science from the University of Durham in England, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Wood, his wife Marie-Ange, and their two daughters will be moving from England to the Bellevue area following the end of the school year.
