Information Mapping(R) Inc. Releases Content Mapper(TM) for Easy XML Authoring from Microsoft(R) Word; Microsoft Word-based Authoring Tool Helps Organizations Quickly and Inexpensively Migrate to XML-Based Content Management Systems

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 2005--Information Mapping(R), Inc. (IMI), the leading provider of Information Life Cycle Solutions today announced it has released Content Mapper(TM), a Microsoft Word-based authoring tool that generates XML and integrates with a variety of popular content management systems (CMS).

The Content Mapper Microsoft Word-based authoring environment provides round trip editing from Microsoft Word to XML and back again, integration with the most popular CMS solutions, easy meta-data tagging, import of legacy documents, flexible publishing and high quality XML output. These characteristics let companies easily and quickly implement CMS solutions using internal resources. Anyone who is familiar with Microsoft Word can author, edit and save XML content with out the need for expensive and complicated XML technicians.

Content Mapper supports emerging industry standard document architectures, like DITA and DocBook, and encourages topic-based content creation, hierarchical organizational structures, and full integration with a number of leading content management systems. Integration with CMS solutions allows for easy metadata tagging and workflow to support single-source publishing, information re-use and flexible publishing. Content Mapper is available at a per user price that is less than the more costly and difficult to use XML Editors.

"Content Mapper revolutionizes XML authoring through an easy and familiar interface that puts the complexity of XML where it belongs - in the background," said Doug Gorman, CEO of Information Mapping, Inc. "Content Mapper is uniquely designed to meet the needs of all information workers who author in Microsoft Word. It will move the adoption of CMS solutions from the IT and technical publishing departments to the subject matter experts, who actually create, edit and use information."

IMI will demonstrate Content Mapper to customers, analysts and the press at the Gilbane Conference On Content Management Technologies in Boston, November 29-December 1.
