Germany Meets Qingdao: How Much Do You Know About Traditional Chinese Festivals" Event Held in Regensburg

On November 15, local time, the event "Germany Meets Qingdao: How Much Do You Know About Chinese Traditional Festivals," sponsored by the Information Office of Qingdao Municipal People's Government and co-organized by the Regensburg German-Chinese Friendship and Cultural Exchange Association, was inaugurated in Regensburg, Germany, a sister city of Qingdao. This event aimed to enhance understanding of traditional Chinese culture among the residents of Regensburg and familiarize them with their sister city, Qingdao.

Participants gathered to watch informative videos showcasing traditional Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival. These videos highlighted various customs, celebratory practices, and traditional foods associated with these festivals, including writing Spring Festival couplets, posting blessing characters, gifting red envelopes, racing dragon boats, and enjoying mooncakes. To further enrich participants' knowledge, a prize quiz was held, where attendees could answer questions related to the content viewed. Winners received thoughtfully prepared gifts from Qingdao, including Spring Festival couplets, Qingdao-themed postcards, sticky notes, and scenic stamps.

The Regensburg German-Chinese Friendship and Cultural Exchange Association also presented a video demonstrating how its members celebrate traditional Chinese festivals, such as making meat dumplings and glutinous rice dumplings together. Additionally, the event featured an exhibition of stunning photographs showcasing the picturesque scenery of Qingdao, providing participants with a visual appreciation of this coastal city.

This event served to foster cultural exchange and deepen the friendship between Regensburg and Qingdao.
