donaufestival. Festival for today’s performance art & music (April 19th until 30th, 2007, Krems an der Donau, Austria)

Since 2005, the donaufestival (A) has established itself internationally as a festival for "today�'s performance art & music" in the dynamic area of friction between experiment, sub- and pop-culture. 84 productions from the fields of new theatre-forms, media art, video, web art, experimental music, sound art, post rock, electronic music and advanced pop music will be presented on seven festival days.

This year, the donaufestival will transform Krems an der Donau (approx. 70 km to the west of Vienna) into a zone of "dangerous, artistic games" from 19th till 21st and from 27th till 30th of April: under the title "Unprotected Game(s)", artists from different genres, whose works deal with, deconstruct and question thinking structures, social systems and their sets of rules, will meet.

Performances:

Apart from new productions by collectives Gob Squad, Showcase Beat Le Mot and Big Art Group, numerous "unprotected games" will test the limits of, and boundaries between, performance, media art and gaming: God�'s Entertainment, Blast Theory, PainStation, toxic dreams, "Sphären Versammlung" (under the guidance of the group ersatzverkehr/ urban lies) will lead the audience to unusual locations.
