Danube University Krems to Award Scholarship in Honor of the Polish Author
Krems. Danube University Krems will award a scholarship for the course of studies in Intercultural Competencies beginning November 21, 2007. The scholarship was established in memory of Polish writer Ryszard Kapuci�"ski and will be awarded to an applicant from Central or Eastern Europe. Applications will be accepted until October 15, 2007.
To honor the memory of polish journalist and author Ryszard Kapuci�"ski who died in January 2007, the Intercultural Studies program at Danube University Krems will award a partial scholarship for the university�'s Intercultural Competencies field of study. "Kapuci�"ski�'s sensitive and knowledgeable approach to other cultures serves as a model for the objectives of the Intercultural Competencies field," says program director Dr. Christiane Hartnack in explanation of the scholarship�'s name. The Ryszard Kapuci�"ski scholarship will cover half of the total cost (10.200 Euros) of the master�'s program beginning on November 21, 2007.
For Applicants from Central and Eastern Europe
The scholarship is open to Central and Eastern Europeans between the ages of 25 and 40 who are working in an international or intercultural field. Applicants must have completed a university education and have proficiency in both German and English. To apply, interested parties are asked to select a quote from Ryszard Kapuci�"ski and to write a short commentary explaining their selection. A résumé or CV as well as a letter describing the applicant�'s motivation for applying completes the application packet. The application deadline is October 15, 2007.
