Phone Users in 79 Countries Use MJOY for Free Texting

Cologne - People in 79 countries already use mobile web portal mjoy.com to send unlimited free SMS around the world from their phones. Just 7 weeks after going public, Mjoy has more than 26,000 registered users, a number growing continually. "Our service works, users like what they see, and they pass the word," says Oliver Wimmeroth, managing director of Mjoy.

Mjoy's registered clients from 79 countries have texted to a total of 110 countries completely free of charge. Mjoy is popular with people that pay high prices for texting. And it is even popular with customers that subscribe to SMS plans but want to text to foreign destinations, since this is usually expensive and not covered in their bundles.

Offering free texting from the mobile phone without limits, Mjoy attracts users in all parts of the globe. The service, still in beta mode, has been improved to make user experience even smoother. "We take every comment very seriously. It helps us improve our service if we know what users think," says Oliver Wimmeroth.

Mjoy Messages to non-members are displayed as SMS on the addressee's handset. They also contain the information that they are sent from mjoy.com, which speeds viral growth. As a major enhancement, registered users get the full message when receiving Mjoy SMS plus a link to their inbox. This inbox conveniently displays whole 'conversations', sorted by contacts. "We take the experience of advanced smartphones, liberate it from the hardware and put it online. So we make it accessible to all handsets in the entire world", Wimmeroth explains.

With users anywhere from Australia to South Africa to Brazil, Mjoy is functional on all common handsets. Users simply access www.mjoy.com, where they register their phone number. Sending and receiving messages is intuitive. Users are advised, however, that Mjoy is data-intensive and that they should make sure they have a data plan.

Operational since October 2008, Mjoy is the mobile web portal of Germany-based Venista Group, a mobile business operating worldwide. Mjoy's next development step is to offer free quality content such as sounds and wallpapers. "We're also starting an offense to provide the hottest ringtone and full-track service worldwide," Wimmeroth says, "and we will have the top 20 songs for each individual country available." Mjoy is still open for partnerships with content partners.
