Fraport Group Also Provides Security Services on the Coast

Frankfurt, Germany - Fraport AG, owner and operator of Frankfurt Airport (FRA), markets its know-how developed over many decades to customers worldwide. The expertise gained in the aviation field will now be utilized in the maritime sector via Fraport's wholly owned subsidiary ICTS Europe Holdings B.V. - the market leader for security services at airports in Europe - and via its German branch, FIS GmbH of Kelsterbach.

Today, Fraport's executive board chairman Dr. Wilhelm Bender spoke to the press in Hamburg about this interesting and important new business sector for the Group. High-level security experts are currently attending a conference in Hamburg focusing on maritime security, as a result of the recent tightening worldwide of security regulations and requirements for international ferry and cruise ship traffic.

FIS GmbH hopes to transfer its expertise, which is based on acknowledged high security standards, to this new business sector. In 2004, FIS first provided security services in the maritime sector in Bremerhaven, Germany. At the Columbus Cruise Center terminal there, FIS was contracted to implement stringent passenger and baggage checks for cruise ships.

FIS GmbH, which operates a large training center for its employees in Kelsterbach close to Frankfurt Airport, is an extremely dynamic company within the Fraport Group. The number of FIS employees working at FRA climbed by approximately 900 in 2004 and a huge increase is expected again in 2005, due to new contracts and added responsibilities.

FIS already employs over 2,000 employees at Germany's largest airport and is in charge of screening passengers and their carry-on baggage, airport employees, and those wanting to enter the airport's security areas, as well as the screening of goods. A further responsibility is the prior checking of passenger travel documents upon request of the airlines, depending on specific regulations of the destination country.

In addition to Frankfurt Airport, FIS is currently active at most airports throughout Germany.
