Alien Technology Names Robert J. McKinley Vice President Business Development to Lead Focus on Transportation Markets for RFID
MORGAN HILL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2005--Alien Technology(R) today announced that Robert J. McKinley, former Director of Security and Airport Systems at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), has joined the company as Vice President Business Development. McKinley will lead Alien's business development and marketing efforts directed to RFID applications in transportation industries, including airlines and third party logistics.

McKinley has over 30 years experience in aviation management, including senior management positions for airlines and airline services companies. In his former role, he was responsible for opening and managing SFO's $2.5B International terminal and, most recently, led the implementation of SFO's comprehensive 100% automated checked baggage inspection system. This $125M federally funded program is the largest and most sophisticated system in the world and is the model for many airports nationwide. McKinley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco, and a Masters Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
