Beta's Photograph of the Year Competition Begins
The Beta News Agency has opened its competition for the best
photograph of the year that will last until April 22. All professional
photo reporters are invited to participate with their pictures taken
in the countries of South East Europe.
The competition, entitled BETA's Photograph of the Year is being
organized for the ninth time. The terms of the competition and
application forms can be found at BETA's website

The three best photographs will receive monetary awards: EUR1,000
(first prize) EUR750 (second prize) and EUR500 (third prize). In
addition to these prizes, special awards will also be given. The
event's general sponsor Telekom will award the best sports photograph.
The South East Europe Media Organization (SEEMO) will give a prize to
the best picture in the area of human rights.
An exhibition of the selected photographs will open at the New Moment
gallery in Belgrade on May 17. The same exhibition will be later
organized in the Serbian Culture Center in Paris, France, and in Saint
Brigid's Center for the Arts in Ottawa, Canada.
This year's jury will bring together Akleksandar Andjic (Vreme
magazine), Dragan Kujundzic (the Association of Photo Authors), Srdjan
Sulejmanovic (EPA), Vladimir Tatarevic (School of Applied Arts) and
Nenad Petrovic (BETA). As in previous years BETA will publish a
catalog of exhibited works.
BETA's launched its competition for the best photograph in 2004, on the
occasion of the agency's 10th anniversary.
