Frankfurt, Germany (ots) - Frankfurt Airport (FRA) will be soon "decking the halls" of its passenger terminals for the upcoming Christmas season and launching its biggest Christmas promotion ever. Starting November 11, FRA's glistening shoppers' paradise will offer travelers and visitors a chance to enter the "Santa, Please Bring Me a Porsche" competition. Up to four Porsche Carrera sports cars will be given away by Christmas. There will be two of these sleek, high-performance German automobiles - valued at EUR 80,000 each - wrapped in orange ribbons and on display in the terminals. Participating in the contest is easy. Just pick up and drop off an entry card at any of the 188 shops and restaurants spread throughout Terminals 1 and 2. Shops and restaurants will also be offering various Christmas specials and small presents to customers.

Travelers and visitors alike will be putting Frankfurt Airport on their wish list this Christmas season. After all, there is plenty to see and do: such as Frankfurt Airport Shopping, the traditional International Christmas Market, the Airport Reise-Markt and the Visitors' Terrace. Another FRA highlight, especially for families, is the Xmas Combi-Ticket for admission to the Visitors' Terrace at Terminal 1 and for an airport tour.During the Christmas season these tickets cost only EUR 6 per adult and EUR 4 per child.

A perennial favorite, FRA's International Christmas Market will again be held from November 29 through December 26 on the mezzanine in Departures Hall B of Terminal 1. The International Christmas Market will be open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, on Christmas Eve (December 24) until 16:00. This is probably the only Christmas Market in Germany that can be enjoyed on December 25 and 26, a welcome treat for passengers traveling over the holidays. At FRA's Christmas Market, you will find stands selling traditional Christmas ornaments and handicrafts from Germany as well as gift items from around the world. Don't forget to try the heart-warming Gluehwein (mulled red wine with spices) and other tasty specialities.

During the holiday season you can also check out the wide range of travel deals being offered at the Airport Reise-Markt, everything from last-minute flights to tour packages for Christmas and next year. Located on the mezzanine of Departures Hall C in Terminal 1, the Airport Reise-Markt is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
