GERRESHEIMER GLAS AG SELLS FBG-TRIDENT

Düsseldorf, Germany (ots) - The packaging specialist Gerresheimer Glas AG, Düsseldorf, has sold its English subsidiary FBG-Trident Ltd. as at the end of October 2003. The purchaser of the company is Murray Holdings Limited, London. FBG-Trident has 82 employees and annual sales of Euro 6.4 million. The company manufactures tubular glass products.

Gerresheimer is parting ways with FBG-Trident in the course of its portfolio rationalisation. The change of owner is beneficial for all parties, says Dr. Axel Herberg, Chairman of the Executive Board of Gerresheimer Glas. With the further focus of the Gerresheimer Group on the core segments of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, FBG-Trident no longer fits the Group's business strategy. For Murray Holdings on the other hand, synergy with the existing business is created.
