Apollo Gold Announces Standard Gold Mine Pours First Gold / Silver Bar
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 29, 2004--Apollo Gold Corporation ("Apollo" or the "Company") (TSX:APG)(AMEX:AGT) is pleased to announce that the Company's Standard Gold Mine near Winnemucca, Nevada has poured its first gold/silver dore bar.
The Standard Gold Mine received the required operating permits in May 2004 and immediately started the construction and development of the open pit/heap leach gold mine approximately 4 miles south of Apollo's Florida Canyon mine in Nevada. This is the first mine that the new Apollo Gold has developed since purchasing the company in 2002.
