Jungfraujoch, Switzerland , 04 August 2011

The idea sounds simple: 150 years of MAMMUT equals 150 peaks. For the Swiss mountain sports specialist this is the biggest summit project of all time. The starting signal for this ambitious project was given at the peak of the Jungfrau on Wednesday, 3 August, the 200th anniversary of the first ascent. Numerous prominent figures responded to the call of this traditional brand.

With the ascent of the Jungfrau (4,158 m) they teamed up with top international mountaineers to sound the bell for the biggest summit project ever staged - so paying tribute to the anniversary of one of Switzerland's finest and best-known mountains over 4,000 m: It was on 3 August 1811 that the peak of the Jungfrau was scaled for the very first time. Numerous VIPs from the worlds of politics, business and sport climbed to the summit, including:

· Top international mountaineers from the MAMMUT ProTeam Dani Arnold, Stephan Siegrist and Denis Burdet

The parties set out from the MAMMUT Anniversary Base Camp on the Jungfraujoch (3,471 m), where 150 red tents made up the base camp for the Jubilee Expedition.

Everyone was caught up by the enthusiasm for mountaineering and the party spirit including the VIP summiteers. "Standing on the summit of the Jungfrau this morning - 200 years to the day of the first ascent - and simultaneously giving the starting signal for MAMMUT's fantastic project was a simply mind-blowing experience," was how Heinz Karrer, CEO of Axpo Holding AG, summarised the event. Rolf G. Schmid, CEO of MAMMUT Sports Group and climbing partner of top mountaineer Dani Arnold, was also in the mood for celebrating when he came down from the summit of the Jungfrau: "I managed to have the speed climbing record holder of the Eiger North Face gasping for breath ... - so getting our 150 Peaks Project off to a great start.
