conVISUAL and Internet portal MSN.de join forces for multimedia mobile communications future
Oberhausen, Germany (ots) - Effective immediately, Microsoft's Internet portal is offering its visitors even more fun and entertainment with the addition of chart hit ring tones, creative logos and the transmission of images onto the mobile phone rounding out its current offering. The new service is the first project in a strategic partnership between the Visual Messaging Service Provider conVISUAL and MSN Germany. The aim of this co-operative venture is to provide the users of MSN.de with a simple means of communicating via the web and by mobile phone. conVISUAL is providing the services and handling the technical implementation.
The download service for ring tones and logos (http://logo.mobil.msn.de) marks the launch of the strategic collaboration between MSN.de and conVISUAL. Both companies plan to expand their range of mobile and multimedia services in the coming months. Mobile Picture Postcards, Mobile Photo Messaging, voicemail announcements and Multimedia Messaging Services are just some of the projects in the pipeline.
"With its technical expertise and experience in the market, conVISUAL is the ideal partner to accompany us into the multimedia future of mobile communications", says Henrik Schapp, Business Development Manager at MSN. Gregor Fellner, International Account Manager at conVISUAL, adds: "We are proud to have convinced MSN.de, one of the largest international Internet portals, of our vision of standards-independent communication. We are sure that visitors to MSN.de will try out and use the new possibilities for mobile communication intensively."
The Multimedia Message Broker (MMB) platform in particular, which was developed by conVISUAL, was a winning argument for MSN in its decision to go with the Oberhausen-based service provider. The MMB permits different messaging standards - like Smart Messaging and MMS, for example - to be combined. The contents of text and picture messages are automatically converted to the relevant format by conVISUAL. The messages can thus be sent without any problem and regardless of the technical standard used by the device. This feature alone increases the number of users that can experience multimedia applications by a significant factor.
